The students had fun learning about John Chapman (A.K.A. Johnny Appleseed). We read several books and watched some interesting videos about his life. Fun fact: Johnny Appleseed did not wear a pot on his head!
To finish our study of Johnny Appleseed, we made homemade applesauce. The students enjoyed the delicious treat! The applesauce received many thumbs up!
International Dot Day, a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration, began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot on September 15, 2009. This year is the 15th Anniversary! The students listened to various books written by Peter Reynolds and then began to create!
We enjoyed our annual trip to OCNJ! We are back and I am ready for an exciting school year!
